Geothermal Energy - Fort LeBoeuf School District
Project Overview
The project includes installation of a geothermal heating and cooling system as part of a district-wide energy conservation and renewable energy plan. The geothermal project includes installation of a geothermal well field, two 46-ton ground source heat pumps and a new heating and cooling energy distribution system. The cost of the project is estimated at $1.3 Million.
Services Provided
Wilson Engineering Services (WES) provided feasibility level study and cost estimates for this project as well as grant writing and technical consulting services. The scope of the feasibility study included evaluation of the following:
- Energy savings or peak load reduction generated by the project;
- Alternative energy potentially produced by the project.
- Project readiness;
- The level to which the project exhibits principals of sound land and water use; and
- Environmental benefits arising from the project.
